Electrical Engineer, Robotics
About Ndimensions Labs
At Ndimensions, we're inventing the infrastructure for next-generation robotics AI systems. Our robots require world-class electronics and hardware to operate reliably in real-world environments.
We're looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer to own the design, prototyping, testing, and production of custom electronics for our robotic platforms. You'll work closely with our hardware, firmware, and AI teams to bring new board designs from concept through to production-ready systems.
What You'll Do
- Design and develop custom PCBs for robotics applications, including power systems, sensor interfaces, motor drivers, and communication buses.
- Own the full board design lifecycle: schematic capture, layout, prototyping, bring-up, and validation.
- Use CAD tools (e.g., Altium, KiCad, Eagle) to create production-quality board designs with proper DFM considerations.
- Develop and execute test plans for electrical subsystems, including functional testing, signal integrity analysis, and environmental qualification.
- Manage the transition from prototype to production, including vendor coordination, BOM management, and manufacturing oversight.
- Collaborate with mechanical and firmware engineers to ensure seamless integration of electronics into robotic assemblies.
- Troubleshoot and debug electrical issues across the full stack, from component-level failures to system-level integration problems.
What We're Looking For
- 4-5 years of professional experience in electrical engineering, with a focus on custom PCB design and development.
- Proven experience designing multi-layer PCBs for mixed-signal, power, and high-speed digital applications.
- Strong proficiency with PCB CAD tools such as Altium Designer, KiCad, or Eagle.
- Hands-on experience with board bring-up, testing, and validation using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and other lab equipment.
- Experience managing production pipelines, including working with contract manufacturers, managing BOMs, and overseeing quality control.
- Solid understanding of power electronics, analog/digital circuit design, and embedded systems interfaces (SPI, I2C, UART, CAN).
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
Bonus (Not Required)
- Experience with robotics-specific electronics (motor controllers, IMUs, force/torque sensors, LIDAR interfaces).
- Familiarity with EMC/EMI compliance testing and design for certification.
- Experience with FPGA design or embedded firmware development.
- Prior work in a startup or fast-paced hardware prototyping environment.
How to Apply
We're looking for engineers who want to build the hardware foundation for the next generation of intelligent robotic systems.
