Healthcare Data Analyst
Careerscape is recruiting a Healthcare Data Analyst for a temporary engagement with our client, a healthcare technology company based in Boston, Massachusetts. This role supports analysis and reporting functions across clinical, operational, and financial datasets to inform decision-making at the department and executive level.
The selected candidate will work alongside clinical informatics teams and department leads to analyze patient outcomes data, operational efficiency metrics, and compliance reporting requirements. Proficiency in SQL and experience with electronic health record systems such as Epic or Cerner is expected. Familiarity with healthcare data standards including HL7 and FHIR is a strong advantage.
This is a temporary position with an anticipated duration of 6 to 12 months. The role is on-site in Boston and offers the opportunity to contribute to meaningful healthcare data infrastructure work at an established organization with a broad patient population.
Responsibilities
- Query and analyze large clinical and operational datasets using SQL and Python
- Build and maintain dashboards and reports in Tableau or Power BI for clinical and administrative stakeholders
- Perform routine data validation and uphold data quality standards across source systems
- Translate complex analytical findings into clear summaries for non-technical audiences
- Collaborate with IT and clinical informatics teams on data integration initiatives
- Support regulatory and compliance reporting in accordance with HIPAA guidelines
- Document data methodologies and maintain internal data dictionaries
- Assist in developing population health models and identifying at-risk patient cohorts
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Health Informatics, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field
- 3 or more years of experience in healthcare data analysis or a comparable analytical role
- Proficiency in SQL with working knowledge of Python or R strongly preferred
- Hands-on experience with electronic health record systems such as Epic or Cerner
- Familiarity with healthcare data standards including HL7, FHIR, and ICD-10 coding
- Strong working knowledge of data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations and healthcare data privacy requirements
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines independently
