Our Facility has 50 slips and 100 Valet racks and 35 moorings, we service boats up to 40'. We are looking for a talented, driven and experienced Marine Technician that can help grow our service capabilities and sustain and top notch service reputation. With dealerships for Yamaha, Mercury, Panda Fischer, Seakeeper, Yanmar, Cummins, Garmin, Power Pole, plus industry memberships with NMMA, MMTA, ABYC, NMEA we can provide the necessary training to bring your career to the next level. Housing available for the right candidate. Senior Marine Mechanics inspect, maintain, and repair boats of all kinds. These individuals understand the working principles and how all systems and components work on a boat. They use diagnostic equipment to test and repair boat engines, hulls, propellers, rigging, and navigational equipment. Senior Mechanics are responsible for providing expert technical knowledge and experience and helping to train other Teammates. This position may also be referred to as Senior Technician. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Work closely with Service Manager to provide accurate and detailed work orders Conduct thorough assessment prior to starting a job including acknowledging the budgeted time and time frame for completion, proving the system and the element requiring service, sourcing parts if required Expert knowledge of marine systems including electrical, plumbing & water systems Proven experience troubleshooting, repair, and install vessel systems and components including but not limited to electrical, electronics, HVAC, plumbing & water systems (fresh, salt, and waste), gas and diesel engines Assign parts and purchases to the appropriate vessels/tickets Excellent time management skills, customer service, attention to detail, and self-motivation Promote and encourage a safe working environment Provide timely updates and takes initiative to exceed member satisfaction, even if it requires overcoming challenge Must possess own tools Significant experience with both gas and diesel engines preferred Serve as a mentor for technicians new to the field or SHM Availability to work overtime in order to meet deadlinesAdditional duties as assigned by Manager Safety and Environmental Responsibilities Follow SHM Safety and Environmental rules and complete required related training Wear proper personal protective equipment (may include safety glasses, gloves, life jackets and/or hard hats) as required for the task or work area Report all accidents, injuries, spills and near misses immediately Technical and Physical Requirements High school diploma or equivalent preferred Marine Technical school training preferred 10 years + experience preferred ABYC Master Technician preferred Multiple certifications across engine brands Ability to ascend and descend a ladder Ability to work in confined spaces Ability to lift 50 pounds Basic boat handling skills preferred Boat owner or boating experience a plusAny skills considered standard that a Senior Technician should possess Minimum Soft Skills Qualifications Eagerness to engage in a growing, fast paced, and industry-leading companyConsistently treats others with dignity and respectGenuinely serves others with humility and a positive attitudeFrequently demonstrates a bias toward actionAlways communicates effectively and courteously with fellow teammates and membersContinuously follows policies and procedures while seeking out new and better ways of accomplishing dutiesShows resolve and overcomes difficulties in a positive and productive mannerGladly provides responsive, and high level of service to our teammates and membersEagerly puts forth the extra effort to accomplish dutiesAdapts quickly and efficiently to changing priorities in order to meet teammate or member needs Safe Harbor Marinas provides equal employment opportunities (EEO) to all employees and applications for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability or genetics.
