Maintenance Mechanic 1st shift
Seeking a Maintenance Mechanic for a direct hire opportunity in Southbridge, MA.
Full benefits including PTO, Medical, Dental and 401k!
Pay is between $25 - $30 per hour (based on experience)
Monday - Friday 7:00 am - 3:30 pmResponsibilities:
- Respond promptly to machine failures, breakdowns, installations, and facility maintenance needs.
- Troubleshoot, repair, and rebuild major production equipment.
- Service, overhaul, and perform preventive maintenance on equipment.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and professional work environment.
- Follow all company safety policies and protocols.
Qualifications:
- Trade school or equivalent technical training preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a related maintenance role preferred.
- Fabricating, welding, sheet metal, and pipe fitting experience required.
- Basic knowledge of mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and perform basic mathematics.
- Must own a personal set of tools.
- Strong critical thinking skills and adaptability to evolving situations.
- Ability to operate a Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) — training provided if needed.
- Proficient in troubleshooting and repairing machinery.
- Skilled in safe operation of hand and power tools.
- Highly self-motivated and enthusiastic.
- Fluent in English (reading, writing, and speaking).
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods, stoop, and bend.
- Lift up to 40 pounds as needed.
- Good manual dexterity.
- Vision of 20/40 or better (with corrective lenses if necessary).
- Comfortable working from ladders.
- Must be able to wear eye and hearing protection.
