Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years OR RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
This opportunity is tailored for an experienced Registered Nurse skilled in Operating Room (OR) nursing, ready to contribute to exceptional surgical care on a contract basis in Gardner, MA.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care in fast-paced OR environments, advocating for privacy, dignity, and patient comfort.
- Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical teams to ensure optimal patient safety and support during procedures.
- Maintain sterile fields and apply aseptic principles, overseeing the selection and sterilization of surgical supplies and instruments.
- Monitor and document all patient care activities thoroughly, including medication administration, pain assessments, and post-operative evaluations.
- Prioritize patient needs effectively, respond promptly to emergencies, and maintain compliance with hospital policies and health regulations.
- Serve as a resource for colleagues through mentoring and fostering continuous learning.
- Adhere to rigorous protocols for surgical counts, specimen handling, and patient identification to minimize risk.
- Participate in unit call rotation to provide critical perioperative support.
Qualifications:
- Current MA RN License required.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification upon hire, or active Basic Life Support (BLS) with ACLS obtained within 60 days.
- Recent Operating Room nursing experience mandatory.
- Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR) preferred.
- Strong communication and critical thinking skills essential.
