Purchasing & Procurement Coordinator
Schylling is an award-winning toy company that has been putting smiles on the faces of children, and children-at-heart, for over 40 years. We are in a historic old mill in the charming and idyllic New England town of North Andover, MA.
We are currently recruiting a detail-oriented and proactive Purchasing and Procurement Coordinator to support our purchasing team and oversee a dedicated portfolio of vendor accounts. This role is key to streamlining procurement operations and fostering productive supplier relationships. The ideal candidate brings strong organizational skills, collaborative energy, and a sharp eye for detail, ensuring every process is executed with precision and reliability.Key Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative support to the purchasing team, including processing purchase orders, maintaining documentation, and updating data in the ERP system.
- Monitor order confirmations and track purchase statuses to ensure timely and accurate delivery of goods and services.
- Assist the VP of Supply Chain with operational tasks such as coordinating meetings, managing follow-ups, and preparing purchasing-related reports and spreadsheets.
- Act as the primary contact for assigned vendors: place orders, monitor shipments, resolve basic issues, and manage transactional communications independently.
- Maintain up-to-date records of purchase orders, pricing, specifications, vendor contact information, and confirmations with a high level of accuracy.
- Collaborate with internal departments to support order tracking, payments, and documents to ensure timely deliveries.
- Support the creation of vendor quote requests and gather relevant pricing or product data for procurement team review.
- Ensure compliance with internal procurement policies and procedures throughout the ordering process.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to special purchasing initiatives and projects as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field preferred.
- 1–3 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or administrative support.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively across teams and with external vendors.
- Exceptional organizational and time management abilities, with a keen eye for detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite—especially Excel and Outlook; experience using ERP or purchasing systems is a plus.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks independently while thriving in a collaborative team environment.
The base salary range for this position is $55,000 to $65,000. Offered base compensation within this range will be determined based on a candidate’s qualifications, experience, geographic location and other factors relevant to the scope and responsibilities of this role.
