Job Type: Travel/Contract

Schedule: 40 hours/week | Rotating 8- or 10-hour shifts

Shift Options: 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM or 9:00 AM – 7:30 PM (rotating)

Travel Rate: $2,311/Week

We are seeking a highly skilled and dependable Travel Surgical Technologist to support a dynamic surgical team in a busy operating room environment. This position requires proficiency across multiple specialties, with a strong preference for candidates experienced in orthopedic procedures. The technologist will play a key role in maintaining a sterile field and supporting surgeons and nurses throughout surgical operations.

• Prepare and maintain the sterile surgical field, including instruments, drapes, and solutions

• Perform scrub duties for various specialties: orthopedics, general surgery, ENT, vascular, and GYN

• Anticipate surgeon needs and pass instruments/supplies during procedures

• Assist with retraction, suturing, sponge/instrument counts, and dressing applications

• Handle surgical specimens appropriately for lab submission

• Facilitate patient positioning, transport, and turnover between procedures

• Operate and assist with OR equipment, including sterilizers, lighting systems, and suction units

• Safely prepare and label medications under the direction of RNs and surgeons

• Ensure patient privacy, dignity, and safety throughout all phases of surgical care

• Participate in team-based training, orientation, and quality improvement initiatives

• Comply with AORN standards and infection prevention protocols

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program (civilian or military)

• National certification (required within 12 months of graduation and must be maintained)

  • Certification must be accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) and recognized by the American College of Surgeons and the Association of Surgical Technologists

• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification

• Strong orthopedic scrub experience (highly preferred)

• Excellent communication, organizational, and teamwork skills

• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, acute care setting
