Schedule: 40 hours/week | Rotating 8- or 10-hour shifts
Shift Options: 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM or 9:00 AM – 7:30 PM (rotating)
Travel Rate: $2,311/Week
We are seeking a highly skilled and dependable Travel Surgical Technologist to support a dynamic surgical team in a busy operating room environment. This position requires proficiency across multiple specialties, with a strong preference for candidates experienced in orthopedic procedures. The technologist will play a key role in maintaining a sterile field and supporting surgeons and nurses throughout surgical operations.
Responsibilities:Prepare and maintain the sterile surgical field, including instruments, drapes, and solutions
Perform scrub duties for various specialties: orthopedics, general surgery, ENT, vascular, and GYN
Anticipate surgeon needs and pass instruments/supplies during procedures
Assist with retraction, suturing, sponge/instrument counts, and dressing applications
Handle surgical specimens appropriately for lab submission
Facilitate patient positioning, transport, and turnover between procedures
Operate and assist with OR equipment, including sterilizers, lighting systems, and suction units
Safely prepare and label medications under the direction of RNs and surgeons
Ensure patient privacy, dignity, and safety throughout all phases of surgical care
Participate in team-based training, orientation, and quality improvement initiatives
Comply with AORN standards and infection prevention protocols
Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program (civilian or military)
National certification (required within 12 months of graduation and must be maintained)
Certification must be accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) and recognized by the American College of Surgeons and the Association of Surgical Technologists
Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
Strong orthopedic scrub experience (highly preferred)
Excellent communication, organizational, and teamwork skills
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, acute care setting
