Special Ed Teacher | Franklin, Massachusetts

This opportunity seeks a dedicated Special Education Teacher to support elementary students through inclusive and cooperative learning environments. The position offers a full contract for the new school year with consistent hours Monday through Friday, from 8:20 AM to 3:40 PM, and Tuesday afternoons reserved for meetings and professional development.

There are two key instructional roles available:

• Grade 3 Inclusion Teacher: Collaborate closely with grade 3 educators and a fellow special education teacher named Marsha. Manage a caseload of 10-15 students, service them individually and in groups, and actively participate in IEP meetings to ensure appropriate goal setting and progress monitoring.

• K-2 Special Education Teacher for Cooperative Learning Classroom (CLC): Lead a partially sub-separate setting serving kindergarten through second grade, currently supporting two students with potential for growth. Both students split time between the cooperative classroom and inclusion settings. Support staff including an assistant and a 1:1 aide will be available to help meet student needs.

Qualifications:

• Valid Special Education teaching certification
• Experience working with elementary-aged students in inclusive and sub-separate settings
• Ability to collaborate effectively with classroom teachers, support staff, and families
• Strong skills in developing and implementing individualized education programs (IEPs)
• Commitment to participating in ongoing training and team meetings
