Job Description

Insight Global is looking for a senior Systems Engineer to provide leadership and engineering expertise to a client at Hanscom AFB in Massachusetts in support of enterprise modernization and sustainment of a mission planning systems.

• Provide strategic direction and oversight for end-to-end systems engineering and integration activities across complex mission-critical software and data systems, ensuring alignment with enterprise objectives and technical standards.

• Guide engineers in evaluating system performance, interfaces, and interoperability, offering technical recommendations that strengthen system reliability and mission readiness.

• Lead the development and refinement of enterprise, solution, and functional architectures using industry frameworks such as DoDAF/UAF, and mentor the team in applying model-based systems engineering to document system baselines and future designs.

• Oversee the design, development, testing, and sustainment of shared development and integration environments, ensuring teams maintain tools, scripts, utilities, test artifacts, and security updates effectively.

• Champion the use of automated testing tools and modern integration practices, coaching developers and engineers to improve test coverage, integration workflows, and overall system quality.

• Direct performance assessments, code-quality reviews, and cybersecurity evaluations, ensuring the team verifies functional, interface, and security requirements with rigor and consistency.

• Provide leadership in implementing cybersecurity, cyber-resilience, and system-security requirements, guiding teams through RMF-aligned compliance activities, authorization documentation, and system-security engineering best practices.

• Oversee enterprise data governance, data-quality initiatives, metadata management, and interface documentation, ensuring the team develops and maintains logical data models and aligns interfaces with authoritative data sources.

• Provide oversight for enterprise configuration-management processes, ensuring baselines and documentation artifacts remain current, change requests are properly reviewed, and metrics demonstrate efficiency and compliance across the engineering team.

Skills and Requirements

• Active Top Secret Clearance

• Experience in systems engineering for complex, multi-tiered systems (cloud, hybrid, edge).

• Familiarity with mission-planning systems (JMPS, JOMS, CMP microservices) or similar C2/aviation systems.

• Experience with DevSecOps, CI/CD, automated testing, and infrastructure-as-code.

• Knowledge of Zero Trust, ICAM/IdM, RMF, and cybersecurity engineering.

• Familiarity with ATO/ACO processes, AOC systems, and JADC2-aligned architectures.
