Position Overview:
Xico Lighting ( is a leading LED lighting technology company based in Woburn, MA. We sell architectural-grade lighting products. Our primary customers are architectural, design, and engineering firms, and the contractors that serve them. We have already achieved strong traction and market success and completed several projects. We are now seeking a highly motivated and experienced sales professional with strong experience in sales in the Architecture, Engineering, and Design (AED) marketplace to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for raising brand awareness and driving revenue growth. You will also help establish and support strategic partnerships related to a range of specification lighting products and LED lighting-related capabilities. Your primary objective will be to identify and grow new business opportunities, build strong relationships with key stakeholders (lighting designers, architects, engineering, construction firms etc), and maximize sales potential. This is a dynamic role that requires a combination of business acumen, industry knowledge, and exceptional communication skills. There is significant opportunity to expand scope and grow based on performance.
Responsibilities:
- Project sales: Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy to drive revenue growth in the AED industry in by building relationships with architects, engineering firms, lighting specifiers, contractors and distributors.
- Market awareness: Identify new market opportunities, assess market trends, and stay updated with industry developments.
- Brand building: Identify and target potential clients within the AED industry, including architects, interior designers, and design firms. Build and maintain a robust pipeline of leads through proactive prospecting, networking, and attending industry events.
- Partnership Development: I dentify and establish strategic partnerships with key players in the AED industry, including manufacturers, suppliers, and industry associations. Collaborate with partners to develop joint marketing initiatives, co-branding opportunities, and other mutually beneficial activities.
- Relationship Management: Build and nurture strong relationships with existing clients and key stakeholders in the AED industry. Understand their needs, provide exceptional customer service, and act as a trusted advisor. Continuously work towards expanding business opportunities with existing clients.
- Sales and Revenue Generation: Meet or exceed sales targets by effectively presenting and promoting our products and services to potential clients. Prepare and deliver persuasive sales presentations, proposals, and contracts. Negotiate terms and conditions to secure profitable deals.
- Market Research and Analysis: Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify market trends, customer needs, and potential areas for growth. Use data-driven insights to develop targeted marketing strategies and product/service enhancements.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, product development, and operations, to align business development efforts with overall company goals. Provide feedback and insights to support product/service improvements and identify new market opportunities.
- Reporting and Analysis: Prepare regular reports and presentations to communicate business development activities, progress, and results to senior management. Analyze sales and market data to measure performance, identify areas for improvement, and make informed business decisions.
Qualifications:
- Proven track record of success in business development, sales, or account management, preferably within the AED industry.
- In-depth knowledge of the AED industry, market dynamics, and key players.
- A strong network of contacts within the AED industry is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and influence key stakeholders.
- Strong negotiation and presentation skills.
- Self-motivated and results-oriented, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to gather and interpret market data.
- Proficiency in CRM software, MS Office, and other relevant business tools.
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, or a related field. MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
- Valid driving license, personal transport and willingness to travel as required (est. 50%).
