Receiving Manager
Job Summary
The Receiving Manager is responsible for overseeing all receiving operations, ensuring accurate processing of incoming shipments, proper documentation, and compliance with company standards. This role supports inventory accuracy, operational efficiency, and audit readiness through consistent execution of receiving procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily receiving operations to ensure accurate and efficient processing of incoming shipments
- Ensure all deliveries are verified for accuracy, quality, and proper documentation
- Maintain accurate receiving records and support overall inventory accuracy
- Monitor receiving activity to identify discrepancies, errors, or process gaps
- Supervise receiving staff to ensure adherence to company procedures and performance expectations
- Coordinate scheduling and workflow for receiving operations
- Ensure proper handling of discrepancies, including damages, shortages, and documentation issues
- Support compliance with company policies, audit requirements, and operational controls
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving area
Qualifications
- Previous experience in receiving, warehouse, or inventory operations
- Strong understanding of receiving processes and inventory control
- Experience leading or supervising a team
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel or similar tools
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience managing receiving operations in a high-volume environment
- Familiarity with audit standards and inventory controls
- Background in retail, wholesale, or distribution operations
Work Environment / Expectations
Primarily warehouse or receiving environment. Requires standing, walking, and handling product for extended periods. May require schedule flexibility based on delivery schedules and business needs.
