Estate Administration - Probate Attorney
- 100% of all estate administration court deadlines are met, or a Motion to Extend Time to File is submitted to the court.
- 100% of all time is entered by the end of each week.
- Attend court hearings or other legal proceedings, perform legal research, and work with senior associate attorneys to provide legal advice
- Maintain client files in an organized fashion to ensure up-to-date information is handy for other attorneys, paralegals and support staff
- Communicate with senior associates, paralegals, and clients to ensure cases are handled efficiently
- Review client issues on legal matters, analyze available options, and diligently work to determine the best course of action
- Create legal documents, including correspondence, briefs, motions, pleadings, contracts, affidavits, and settlement agreements for contract negotiations and proceedings
- Management, oversight, and primary responsibility for all estate administration matters
- Conduct follow-up call with probate clients
- Determine a plan for the administration of the Estate, what information is needed from the client, and communicate with the Estate Administration Team on next steps
- Review pleading drafts prepared by Estate Administration Legal Assistants and Paralegals
- Ensure that pleadings are submitted according to estate timelines
- Resolve any issues with the court surrounding a probate matter
- Communicate effectively and compassionately with clients through email, phone, and in-person meetings
- Ensure that all time is tracked accurately and submitted on time by the end of each week
- Exceptional communication skills and problem-solving skills needed in order to work with all levels of staff and our clients
- Candidates must have passed the bar exam
- Ability to work with senior attorneys to best serve client needs and grow our client base
- Comfortable with technology and web-based apps
- Ability to consistently track and enter billable time in practice management software
- Effective teamwork and communication skills
- J.D. from an accredited Law School
- Active Massachusetts Bar Licensure
- 2-3 years of experience in Massachusetts probate matters as a primary concentration
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
