About the Position
Job Title: RN Telemetry I Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 years License: Active RN License Certifications: AHA BLS certification, Telemetry Certification, ACLS Must-Have: Must be able to read telemetry strips. Knowledge of cardiac drips is required. Description: The position involves working on a medical telemetry unit. The unit comprises 37 beds that include semi-private and private rooms. Patients may be admitted from various sources, including the emergency department. Common treatments include administration of Cardizem, Nitroglycerin, Lasix, and Heparin drips. The patient population includes individuals with CHF, Atrial Fibrillation, Pulmonary Embolism, Pneumonia, alcohol-related issues, and dementia with cardiac comorbidities. Occasional surgical patients may also be treated within the unit. Travelers are required to float to applicable units as needed. Nursing care for patients post-cardiac catheterization and pacemaker is preferred but not mandatory. The RN to patient ratio is 1:5-6 on night shifts. EMR is managed through a charting system.
