Early Childhood Student Intern
This position is only open to Putnam students.
Assist in the planning and implementation of daily educational activities for students in the Springfield Public Pre-K Schools to provide supervision and other related duties assigned by a supervisor. This position will assist the program in providing quality early childhood education Services (literacy, learning and personal care) to Pre-K school students in the Springfield Public Schools. Job Duties- Assists with implementation of daily educational activities for preschoolers.
- Assists Teacher in maintaining a safe and healthy learning environment (classroom) that is appropriate to the developmental level and learning style of the preschooler.
- Confers with the Teacher as to definite responsibilities and schedules to be carried out in the classroom.
- Assists the Teacher with organizing the child developmental folders.
- Provides appropriate staff-child interactions with the children
- Supports the social, emotional, physical, and developmental needs of each child.
- Assists with preparation of inventory of classroom supplies.
- Must be at student enrolled at Putnam Early Education and Care program.
- A senior student or in the second semester of Junior year
- Prior experience working in an early childhood education setting such as internships
- Must be able to assist teacher with implementing lesson plans that meet the needs of all children assigned to the classroom.
- Must possess a positive attitude, flexible and able to work with diverse groups of people 6. Must be able to accurately enter data into the computer.
