Registered Respiratory Therapist Job Details

• Estimated Weekly Salary: $2,060 - $2,120 per week
• Employment Type: Travel Contract
• Healthcare Setting: Hospital – Inpatient, Nursing Unit
• Location: Boston, MA 02118 (Massachusetts respiratory therapist jobs)
• Start Date: September 22, 2025
• End Date: December 20, 2025
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Shifts: 12-hour nights; every other weekend and holiday
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week

Registered Respiratory Therapist Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of recent experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist in a Level 1 trauma facility
• Critical care experience in MICU and SICU required
• Proficiency with lung protective ventilation strategies
• Active participation on Code Blue teams
• Ability to make ventilator management decisions based on patient assessment and lab results
• Experience with EPIC EMR required
• Preferred: Experience with Level III NICU, Drager XL and v500 ventilators
• Required Certifications: RRT certification, Massachusetts Respiratory Care license, BLS
• Preferred Certifications: NPS and/or ACCS

Respiratory Therapist Responsibilities

• Deliver advanced respiratory care to critically ill patients in MICU and SICU hospital settings
• Participate as an integral member of the Code Blue team
• Independently assess patients and manage ventilator settings
• Implement evidence-based lung protective ventilation strategies
• Document and coordinate care using EPIC EMR
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes
• Provide respiratory care across various inpatient units, including potential NICU assignments
