Printing Bindery Operator

Job Overview
Urgently hiring part or preferably full-time an experienced hands on person to run all sorts of bindery machines from polar cutter to Baum folder and Duplo collator/saddle machine, book binding and stitching, table top perfect binder, mailing inserter, envelope printer and so forth and do general maintenance and keep work area organized and clear. We are a busy mostly digital print shop and need a team worker to work in other areas of the shop as needed. Small family owned operation-good pay. Full time hours. Easy place to work. Duties

• Operate and maintain bindery equipment such as folding machines, cutters, laminators, and CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machinery to complete print finishing tasks efficiently.
• Perform screen printing and flexo press operations for custom print projects, ensuring vibrant color reproduction and accurate registration.
• Manage prepress tasks including layout design, typography adjustments, and color management to prepare files for production.
• Conduct quality control inspections throughout the binding process to ensure consistency, color accuracy, and adherence to specifications.
• Utilize forklift and machining skills for material handling, loading/unloading large print substrates, and setting up machinery safely.
• Apply knowledge of graphic design principles using Adobe Creative Suite tools to assist in layout adjustments when necessary.
• Implement strict safety protocols while operating manufacturing equipment and handling heavy materials.
• Troubleshoot technical issues related to printing presses, CNC machines, or finishing equipment promptly to minimize downtime.

Experience

• Proven experience in a manufacturing environment specializing in print finishing or bindery operations.
• Strong knowledge of screen printing, flexo press operations, and prepress processes including layout design and typography.
• Familiarity with color management techniques to ensure accurate color reproduction across different media.
• Hands-on experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) for graphic editing and layout adjustments.
• Ability to operate CNC machinery and machining tools for precise cutting and shaping of printed materials.
• Knowledge of quality control standards within the printing industry to maintain high-quality output consistently.
• Certification or experience with forklift operation is preferred but not mandatory; safety training is essential.
