RN Case Manager Job Details

• Charting System: Omnicell, Meditech Expanse
• Orientation: 8 hours
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1970 - $2020

Registered Nurse Case Manager Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – Massachusetts nursing jobs preferred
• Minimum 1 year of recent case management experience
• BLS certification (AHA required)
• Experience with healthcare charting systems
• Background in acute hospital, long-term acute care, rehab, or skilled nursing settings
• Knowledge of admission criteria, care coordination, discharge planning, InterQual/Milliman guidelines, CMS regulations, HIPAA, DRG, HEDIS, ICD-10 coding, and NCQA standards
• COVID-19 and flu vaccines required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
• First-time travelers with relevant experience are welcome

RN Case Manager Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient care from admission through discharge to ensure optimal clinical outcomes
• Apply InterQual and Milliman guidelines for concurrent and retrospective reviews
• Conduct continued stay reviews and assess medical necessity
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including physical therapy, social services, and interpretation services
• Support medical/surgical and short-term rehab patients (adults and geriatrics)
• Maintain accurate documentation and compliance with CMS, HIPAA, OSHA, and The Joint Commission standards
• Participate in appeals, denials, CPT coding, and billing processes
• Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and core safety measures
