Real Estate Property Accountant (Residential)

We are seeking a Residential Property Accountant to manage financial operations across a diverse real estate portfolio, including market-rate, mixed-use, and affordable housing properties. This role is critical in ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with audit requirements, and maintaining the financial health of residential assets. The position offers a competitive salary of up to $95,000 per year, with opportunities for growth and advancement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage monthly accounting processes including rent postings, lease adjustments, reconciliations, journal entries, and payments (mortgages, taxes, fees)
• Complete month-end closings, prepare lender and investor reports, and support year-end audits
• Monitor property-level cash flow, process fund transfers and distributions, and ensure accuracy in financial reporting
• Maintain compliance with company standards and accounting best practices

Required Experience:

• 2+ years of residential property accounting experience
• Associate’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or equivalent practical experience
• Prior experience working with Yardi software

Nice-to-Have Experience:

• Exposure to mixed-use or affordable housing accounting
• Experience preparing financial packages for investors or lenders
• Knowledge of GAAP principles in real estate accounting
