Part Time Preschool Teacher

Community Nursery School seeks a dynamic, loving and committed to join our team of educators alongside seasoned co-teacher in our morning & lunch bunch program for September of 2025.

CNS is a Reggio-inspired, community-based cooperative preschool located in Lexington, MA.

• This are part time co-teaching position to begin the 2025-2026 school year (Sept ‘25 - early June ‘26)
• Weekly hours are Monday, 8:00-2:30; Tuesday-Thursday, 8:00-1:30; Friday 8:00-12:30 with 1 additional planning hour & “office hour” provided weekly to educators outside of scheduled classroom time. 30 minutes of set up time and 30 minutes of wrap up time given to educators daily to prepare the environment and plan curriculum.
• This position includes a competitive salary with major holidays and four weeks off during the calendar year, additional paid time off, employee sick bank, retirement savings opportunities, as well as opportunities for paid professional development. Educators are invited to work up to six weeks in the summer or take summers off.
• CNS offers low classroom teacher to child ratios, as well as additional support staff to meet the needs of both children and educators.

Ideal candidates should have:

• EEC Preschool Teacher Certification (or background in education and/or a willingness to pursue certification).
• Genuine love for and interest in the work of young children.
• Familiarity with Reggio-inspired, inquiry-based early education approach.
• A solid knowledge of child development and process-oriented, play-based learning.
• A deep appreciation for nature and a desire to find inspiration and integrate materials from the natural world within the classroom and learning experience.
• The ability to create an inspiring and engaging learning environment where children experience joy and a sense of wonder, both inside our beautiful building and on our expansive outdoor grounds.
• The capacity to create warm, nurturing and professional relationships with children, families and fellow educators. The ability to interact collaboratively with colleagues and families.
• A commitment to celebrating cultural diversity and respect for diverse learners.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to work both cooperatively and independently on a co-teaching team.
