Position Title: Part-Time Lecturer (Entrepreneurship and Business Planning Course)
Location: Medford Campus Department: Tufts Gordon Institute Position Type: Faculty Qualifications: The ideal candidate is a practicing entrepreneur who has either founded their own businesses or served as part of a senior leadership team in a startup, small business, or small nonprofit. They must be well versed in modern entrepreneurship frameworks and skillsets and have first-hand experience turning theory into practice. They must be comfortable with using enabling technologies to build ventures and streamline processes, including the use of AI in venture creation and product design and development. Previous experience leading interactive workshops at the college and executive education level is strongly preferred. The candidate will have a strong commitment to action-oriented experiential learning. Compensation: The compensation for this part-time Lecturer position in the Tufts Gordon Institute is $12,035 per 3 SHU course. Description: Tufts Gordon Institute has openings for part-time lecturers at the undergraduate level to teach ENT101 Entrepreneurship and Business Planning. The part-time lecturer would be customizing and teaching an existing course with fully developed curriculum and regularly collaborating with a team of other part-time and full-time faculty teaching the same course to share insights, advice, teaching tools and more. Responsibilities include attending online meetings with the faculty team, leading engaging and action-packed class sessions, providing feedback on assignments, and supporting student learning through office hours. Based within the School of Engineering, the Gordon Institute at Tufts University provides students with the knowledge and skills they need to lead both teams and entire companies through programs taught by faculty who have excelled in industry. This cross-disciplinary approach enriches how we teach applied business-where technical expertise meets strategic thinking meets human insight.Course Overview This course focuses on investigating, understanding, and implementing the process of founding a start-up firm. Elements of searching out new venture opportunities, matching skills with a new venture, financing, competitive strategy, intellectual property, and operating a new venture will be explored. The focus of the course will be the development and presentation of a business plan created by teams of students with various academic backgrounds.
Course Format And Meeting Times One 3-hour class session per week (13 total class sessions) taught in person at the Tufts Medford campus.

- Spring section: Tuesdays or Wednesdays 1:20-4:20pm
