eCommerce Culinary Associate

Milk Street, a Boston-based food media company, is looking for an eCommerce Culinary Associate to join its eCommerce Merchandising team. This role works closely with the Merchandising team to test, taste and evaluate new product candidates for the Milk Street Store. The ideal candidate must have a culinary background, be intellectually curious, goal and detail oriented, with an ability to work in a fast-paced environment. This Culinary Associate will work closely with the merchandising, art, kitchen and editorial teams.

Responsibilities Include:

• Work with the merchandising team to test equipment, utensils, and pantry items for possible inclusion in the online store.
• Create detailed and comprehensive notes on all items tasted, tested and procured for the merchandising and editorial team.
• Research tested products and assist in providing detailed notes, usages and specifications on selected items for the editorial/marketing teams.
• Organize pantry product tastings/testings with the kitchen team when possible.
• Keep products organized: from testing, to approval to photoshoot and keep product organized.

Photoshoots and Media Needs:

• Assist Art/Visual Department with video shoots including managing photo calendar, procuring products for shoots and working with marketing for promotional needs.
• Execute product photo shoots including prepping, cooking, styling, recipes for products.
• Assist photo with food styling and other food needs for product photo shoots including providing “hands” and assistance in photo shoots where needed.
• MUST BE PRESENT AT ALL PHOTO AND VIDEO SHOOTS.

Qualifications:

• Culinary school degree (or current student) or equivalent experience working with food. Experience with food styling or photoshoot experience is a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience using online project management tools such as Google Docs/Drive, Quip, AirTable a plus.
• Strong organization skills.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $57,000.00 per year
