Bachelor's degree, Certification in Radiologic Technology (ARRT Certification), and minimum 1+ years Radiation Therapy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Provide specialized respiratory care to critically ill patients through assessment, initiation, and adjustment of therapeutic respiratory procedures in a dynamic clinical environment. This contract opportunity is based in Boston, MA, and offers involvement in an active patient care team dedicated to delivering high-quality respiratory therapy.
Responsibilities:
- Perform respiratory tests and procedures as ordered to ensure accurate and effective patient care.
- Respond promptly to respiratory emergencies and safely transport mechanically ventilated patients.
- Develop and recommend care plans and respiratory therapies in collaboration with physicians.
- Manage respiratory therapy delivery in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Conduct regular bedside rounds, monitoring patient responses and modifying treatments accordingly.
- Educate patients, families, and healthcare staff, and supervise respiratory therapy students during clinical rotations.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Associates Degree in Respiratory Therapy required; Bachelors degree preferred.
- Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care preferred.
- Active Respiratory Therapist license in Massachusetts preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification preferred.
- 0-1 year of respiratory care experience preferred.
- Strong clinical judgment and effective communication skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and handle medical equipment weighing up to 100 pounds.
