Job Qualifications
The ideal Kitchen Manager candidate for this Methuen, MA opportunity will bring:
- Proven experience in a back-of-house leadership role, ideally as a Kitchen Manager or equivalent in a high-volume, full-service restaurant environment
- Strong working knowledge of food safety standards, HACCP practices, and safe food handling procedures
- Experience managing food costs, tracking waste, and controlling kitchen labor
- Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and develop back-of-house team members at all levels
- Confidence in reading and executing recipes with consistency and precision
- Experience conducting formal line checks, taste and temperature evaluations, and inventory management
- Strong organizational and scheduling skills with the ability to direct workflow before, during, and after service
- A passion for made-from-scratch food and a commitment to maintaining kitchen standards without cutting corners
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while keeping the team focused and the culture positive
Job Responsibilities
As the Kitchen Manager in Methuen, MA, your day-to-day will include:
- Supervising and overseeing all food production and preparation in accordance with established recipes and operational procedures
- Directing back-of-house productivity to ensure efficient ticket times and consistent plate quality
- Managing the performance of all back-of-house employees, including performance evaluations, coaching conversations, and disciplinary action when necessary
- Assisting in the development of key employees, assistant managers, and hourly team members through daily feedback and one-on-one conversations
- Conducting formal line taste and temperature checks as part of overall kitchen safety and inventory oversight
- Enforcing compliance with all employment policies and maintaining a clean, safe environment for both the team and guests
- Overseeing proper handling, maintenance, and storage of all food products and kitchen equipment
- Managing food costs, monitoring waste, and keeping kitchen labor costs aligned with operational goals
- Setting weekly schedules, assigning tasks, and directing workflow across all shifts
- Training back-of-house employees on equipment maintenance and proper cleaning procedures
- Reviewing applications, conducting interviews, and making hiring decisions or recommendations for back-of-house staffing
- Creating a safe, fun, and clean work environment that reflects the core values and operational standards of the brand
