Senior director of product design

We are seeking a Senior Director of Product Design with a deep passion for crafting exceptional user experiences and managing teams to shape our Point of Sale (POS) experiences and manage/lead the amazing team of Designers and Researchers working on them. In this role, you will play a pivotal role in leading design, strategy, and vision across the organization; you’ll help restaurants manage their front of house and back of house experiences. Your UI/UX work will span across first party devices like handhelds, terminals, kiosks, kitchen display systems, and web. You will direct a team of Designers to do their best work as well as do some design work yourself. You will craft brand new experiences as well as iterate and grow POS experiences that are the core of the company. You will use AI to enhance the work that you and your team do as well as create incredible experiences that meet our customer needs. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative, accessible, and engaging solutions that meet user needs and drive business growth.

The ideal candidate knows how to balance high craft and speed, is a passionate advocate for customer-centered design, is not afraid to dig into the metrics, is a skilled mentor who fosters a culture of creativity and experimentation. You'll work cross-functionally with product, engineering, and analytics to define overall organization strategy and inspire the team.

• Strategic Leadership: Develop and drive the overall product design vision for the POS organization, aligning it with business goals and user needs.
• Team Development: Build, mentor, and inspire a high-performing design team, fostering a culture of creativity, design excellence, and impact.
• Design Excellence: Coach team members to continually improve their craft and deliver an exceptional experience.
• Customer Insights: Leverage qualitative and quantitative research to inform design decisions and continuously improve product experiences.

• A proactive, outcome-oriented design leader with 10+ years experience partnering with product, engineering, and marketing to understand users, translating that understanding into strategy that drives customer and business outcomes.
• AI is a core part of how you work and in the experiences you create for your customers
• You see around corners, responding to the present and seeing the future to lead the team to create intuitive experiences across responsive web and native mobile platforms.
• You possess an enduring sense of curiosity with a desire to continuously learn and evolve
• You regularly conduct design reviews to obtain feedback, iterating on the designs to improve results

The base salary range for this role is listed below. The starting salary will be determined based on skills and experience. In addition to base salary, our total rewards components include cash compensation (overtime, bonus/commissions, if eligible), benefits, and equity (if eligible).

Pay Range

$210,000—$336,000 USD
