Administrative Assistant Treasurer / Collector Office
The Town of Mattapoisett is seeking applicants for the part-time position of Administrative Assistant for the Office of the Treasurer/Collector.
The Treasurer/Collector Administrative Assistant provides essential administrative, financial and customer support services to the Treasurer/Collector.
Key responsibilities include:
- Financial & Revenue Management: Process property, excise, and utility payments across all platforms; manage daily bank deposits, verify departmental turn-ins, and assist with delinquent account collections and lien certificates.
- Public Service & Communication: Act as a primary point of contact for residents, vendors, and agencies by providing information, researching public records, and fulfilling permit/sticker requests.
- Administrative & Technical Support: Provide comprehensive support to the Treasurer/Collector through data entry, report generation, calendar management, and the execution of special projects.
- Records & Database Maintenance: Maintain accurate physical and digital filing systems, update collection and permit databases (including Beach/Shellfish), and manage departmental mail and correspondence.
The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented individual with strong organizational skills and a positive attitude.
This is a part-time position, 18 hours/week, with an occasional need to flex hours for office coverage and peak collection days throughout the year. Starting salary range is $23.75 - $25.02 hourly.
