available. Manna Community Kitchen nourishes people with food and community, doing so with dignity and respect with the goal of positively impacting as many lives as possible. Manna?s Community Center is a low-barrier, judgment-free space where community members experiencing food or housing instability can have their essential needs met and connect with others. The Community Center Staff (CCS) position is a hands-on, operations-focused role that ensures the Center runs smoothly day-to-day. CCS creates a safe, welcoming environment by supporting the consistent operation of essential services, managing daily activities and logistics, and maintaining shared spaces. This work creates the conditions for meaningful relationship-building, supportive conversations, and attention to the well-being of participants. Primary Responsibilities: Open and close the Community Center on time; ensure the building is secure at closing. Provide calm, respectful presence in the space, including: De-escalation during con?icts Supporting guests in following shared space expectations Manage daily operations and logistics: Maintain data logs Sort and distribute guest mail Organize and distribute donated clothing Track and distribute outdoor gear and supplies Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming space, including daily cleaning of common areas. Oversee and support access to showers and laundry, including: Managing schedules and wait lists Managing towels, linens, and hygiene supplies Cleaning bathrooms and shower areas Respond appropriately to emergencies; overdose response training provided Alongside core operational responsibilities, staff engage guests through supportive conversation and offer basic resource information and referrals as part of everyday interactions. Skills & Qualities Desired: Comfortable working in a low-barrier environment Ability to work as part of a collaborative team and adapt to the changing needs of the day. Calm presence especially during stressful or unpredictable moments Strong boundaries and ability to remain professional Organized, reliable, and willing to do unglamorous but essential tasks Able to work independently and make sound judgment calls Nonjudgmental, respectful, and culturally aware (bilingual a plus) Ability to maintain con?dentiality Physical ability to perform cleaning, lifting supplies, and standing for extended periods Quali?cations Desired: Experience in community-based or human services work is helpful but not required. There is no minimum education requirement. Ability to complete required background checks in accordance with state regulations. Lived experience relevant to the populations served is valued.
