Software Engineer

Job Responsibilities:

• Ensure connectivity between deployed digital sensors and systems.
• Develop tools for sensor data extraction and format conversion for advanced algorithms.
• Store extracted data in databases and create visualizations (back-end and front-end web-based).
• Perform software design, coding, debugging, and testing.
• Conduct software reliability and system risk analysis.
• Support integration of software with existing systems.
• Evaluate and implement new technologies.

Skills:

• Programming: C/C++, Java, Python, Bash, SQL, JavaScript/HTML/CSS, Matlab — 5 years
• GUI Development: 2 years
• Software Development Tools: Kafka, Akka, Redis, Google Protocol Buffers, Avro, Zero MQ — 2 years; Maven or Gradle, Git/GitLab, CMake — 3 years
• Software Engineering: Design patterns, data structures, functional programming, mission-critical software — 2 years
• Networking: Deep understanding of TCP/IP stack — 5 years; experience with UDP multicast and unicast — 3 years
• Red Hat 7/8/9 Linux certification and software configuration management experience
• Experience with formal software development processes and real-time software architectures
• Knowledge/experience with software validation, JSON, Protobuf, SQL databases
• Front-end and back-end web development
• Virtualization technologies
• Modeling and simulation
• Installation and commissioning of software at customer sites
• Real-time Linux kernels, tuning, and performance analysis
• GPU programming (e.g., CUDA)
• High performance computing systems (rack mount, blade servers, etc.)
• Cisco networking (router/switch/firewall) knowledge
• Enterprise VMware experience
• Some Windows Server experience
• Raritan KVM experience
• Experience with missile defense system elements such as C2BMC, THAAD, GMD, Aegis, AN/TPY2
• Experience with space elements and orbiting satellites
• PKI, Multi-Factor Authentication, and PIV technologies

Education/Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or other STEM field with 5 years of relevant experience.
