Safety Officer

We are looking for a Safety Officer with a minimum of 3-5 years of experience to join our dynamic, fast paced team at American Plumbing & Heating. The right candidate will work closely with Project Managers and our Pre-Fab teams to support all projects for our Pharmaceutical, Biotech, Life Sciences, Health Care and Residential clients.

The ideal candidate shall:

· Develop, implement, and manage safety programs, policies, and procedures. Must be aware and compliant with federal, state and local safety laws including Occupational and Health Administration (OSHA) and Department of Transportation (DOT) to ensure the organization complies with all regulations.

· Familiar with a variety of the field’s concepts, practices, and procedures.

· The candidate should also show an ability, through demonstrated experience, to accomplish the following: conduct safety audits and inspections to ensure compliance with occupation and environmental health and safety requirements; develop, implement and maintain employee training programs; establish and maintain safety and training records; and develop, update and manage workplace safety programs, procedures and policies. Rely on extensive experience and judgement to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Leads and directs the work of others.

· The candidate must have demonstrated computer skills, including a proficiency in using common word processing software, spreadsheet software, database applications, project and presentation software, and email.

· Performs safety surveys and inspections, prepares written reports of findings and recommendations for corrective or preventative measures where indicated and follows up to ensure measures have been implemented.

· Conduct post-accident investigation and prepares reports identifying possible accident causes and hazards for use by company personnel and senior management.

· The ideal candidate should have an associate and/or bachelor’s degree in safety management, safety engineering, industrial hygiene, occupational environmental health and safety, or a related field.

Supervisory Responsibilities

· Works with and through management, to ensure compliance with safety and environmental procedures and to assist in the achievement of profitability productivity requirements

· Proficiency in database, management, and different useful software
