Lead Paralegal - National Litigation Program

Chartwell Law
Boston, MA
At Chartwell, we don’t just serve our clients—we live our values. With nearly 300 attorneys across more than 30 offices nationwide, we’re a fast-growing civil litigation firm powered by collaboration, innovation, and a shared commitment to doing the right thing. Our culture is built on the Chartwellian Charter: a 10-point promise to support one another, embrace diversity, and strive for excellence in everything we do.

We’re looking for professionals who bring talent, humility, and heart to the table. Here, you’ll find more than a job, you’ll find a community, and professional growth. We offer competitive compensation, comprehensive benefits, wellness and mentoring programs, and a workplace where your voice matters and your growth is celebrated.

What truly sets Chartwell apart is the way we blend national reach with a close-knit, collegial atmosphere. Even with offices throughout the country, we work seamlessly across practices and geographies—sharing knowledge and stepping up when challenges arise. Our attorneys and staff are empowered to shape the firm’s growth, contribute to thought leadership, and take part in initiatives that give back to our communities.

If you're ready to be part of a team that values “we” over “me,” and where your contributions help shape the future of law, we’d love to hear from you.

Chartwell Law does not accept candidate submissions from outside agencies without prior approval and a signed agreement. In addition, we do not accept unsolicited candidates from outside agencies via our internal email system. If an outside agency fails to adhere to these procedures and/or the terms under a signed contract, Chartwell Law will not consider any submissions constituting a formal submission nor will any such submission bind Chartwell Law in any way. Outside agencies that would like to discuss a potential candidate and/or enter into an agreement with Chartwell Law, must first contact us at [email protected].

We’re seeking a highly motivated paralegal to help lead our innovative litigation program, handling multi-jurisdictional, low-exposure matters for key institutional clients. This is a unique opportunity to join a growing, high-visibility initiative that is changing how we deliver litigation services on a national scale.

You’ll work directly with a senior partner to manage a high-volume caseload across multiple jurisdictions. Your role will involve case coordination, document drafting, and communication with clients and local counsel. We’re looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, embraces systems thinking, and wants to be part of building something new.

We are piloting a smarter, more efficient approach to volume litigation, and you will be at the center of it.

What You’ll Do:
  • Manage a high-volume caseload of routine litigation matters across multiple states
  • Draft template pleadings, discovery, and routine motions for attorney review
  • Monitor court deadlines, case status, and jurisdictional nuances
  • Communicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, and local attorneys
  • Develop and refine workflows and templates to improve efficiency
  • Maintain master case list, track case metrics and report on performance benchmarks
  • Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and improve internal processes
What We’re Looking For:
  • Minimum of 3+ years litigation paralegal experience (multi-state preferred)
  • Proven ability to manage a large caseload
  • Strong understanding of the litigation lifecycle from claim file through resolution
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and anticipate needs
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Comfortable working with templates and adapting them per jurisdiction
  • High attention to detail with a process-oriented mindset
  • Experience using legal case management software (e.g., NetDocuments, Clio Manage, iManage Work, or similar)
  • Enthusiastic about building and iterating a new program from the ground up
Bonus Points:
  • Experience with insurance defense or volume litigation practices
  • Prior involvement in legal operations, pilot programs, or process redesign and optimization
  • Proficiency in using AI-powered legal research and document automation tools (such as CoPilot, Casetext CoCounsel, Spellbook, Harvey AI, or equivalent) to streamline drafting, discovery, and review processes
