Inventory Picking Associate, Material Handling Operations
Role overview
A Springfield plumbing supply distributor is hiring a full-time, temp-to-hire Inventory Picking Associate to ensure precise order fulfillment and efficient outbound shipments on a mid-2nd shift.
Key responsibilities
- Locate and select items from designated storage locations per order specifications
- Use pick lists or handheld scanners to confirm item numbers and quantities
- Operate pallet jacks and forklifts safely (training available if needed)
- Pack, label, and stage orders following company packing standards
- Maintain an orderly, safe work area to support productivity
- Support cycle counts and restocking activities
- Adhere to all safety procedures during picking and handling
Qualifications
- Warehouse/order picking experience preferred; pallet jack or forklift experience preferred
- Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs repeatedly and performing physical tasks for the duration of the shift
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organization and ability to meet time demands
- Comfort operating warehouse equipment; certifications are a plus
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
Schedule & compensation
- Shift: Mid-2nd, 11:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.
- Pay: $20–$23 per hour (DOE)
- Status: Full-time, temp-to-hire
