System Level Test Engineer - 6-Month Contract - North Boston, MA

Are you an engineer who loves rolling up your sleeves to test complex electromechanical systems - and thrives when collaborating with brilliant cross‑functional teams?

Proclinical is supporting a medical device company based in North Boston in their search for System Level Test Engineers on 6-month contracts. This role sits within the Quality department and will play a key part in system-level verification and validation (V&V) activities for a new product.

Primary Responsibilities:

This is a great opportunity for an engineer with a few years of experience who enjoys hands-on testing of complex, electromechanical systems and collaborating cross-functionally with engineering teams.

The team is hiring for two shifts: one engineer to work 8am - 4pm and another to work 4pm -12am. This is not a software testing position - please only apply if you have system level testing experience.

Skills & Requirements:

• 2-3+ years of experience in system-level testing
• Experience testing complex systems (e.g., electromechanical systems, motion control)
• Strong attention to detail and documentation skills
• Ability to work cross-functionally with engineering teams

• Experience within the medical device industry (highly beneficial but not essential)
• Experience testing electro-mechanical systems
• Familiarity with regulated environments and V&V processes

The System Level Test Engineer's responsibilities will be:

• Execute manual system-level verification & validation (V&V) testing in line with predefined protocols
• Accurately document test procedures, results, and findings
• Collaborate with engineering teams to reproduce issues, support root cause investigations, and verify fixes
• Assist in updating and improving testing protocols under the guidance of senior QA/R&D engineers
• Contribute to overall product quality and compliance efforts within a regulated environment

Ideal Candidate

• Early-career to mid-level engineer (approx. 3-5 years experience)
• Hands-on, curious, and methodical approach to testing
• Comfortable working in a collaborative, fast-paced product development environment

Compensation:

• $40 to $80 per hour.
