Job Description

Job Description

Verve is building a world-class team to commercialize wearable solutions that empower the way people move in the world. Our first product is a lightweight, connected wearable system that can be worn all day, every day by industry associates to improve worker safety, and experience. Verve is growing and launching partnerships with some of the leading companies in the world to augment and protect their workforce and we have the unique potential to change the lives of millions of workers.

Verve is dedicated to building a diverse team of individuals who are committed to contributing to an inclusive environment and value respect for all, serving the greater good, and welcoming individuals from a wide range of backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives.

We are looking for a dynamic Manufacturing Quality Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be a key part of the Manufacturing and Supply Chain Operations team developing and commercializing next-generation wearable systems to protect and empower our workforce.

You Will:

  • Own end-to-end product quality from NPI through mass production and field performance.
  • Act as primary quality interface with contract manufacturer and key suppliers.
  • Drive quality deliverables through NPI and Pre-production builds, including yield tracking, issue resolution, and production readiness.
  • Develop and implement quality plans, control plans, and CTQs across the product lifecycle.
  • Drive DFMEA/PFMEA development and ensure risks are mitigated prior to production start.
  • Establish manufacturing quality systems from the ground up, including inspection criteria, SPC requirements, test controls, and data collection.
  • Validate manufacturing processes, test systems, and critical fixtures.
  • Define and track key quality metrics (FPY, DPPM, COPQ, field failure rates) and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Drive supplier and CM quality performance by defining standards and owning compliance, including audits, SCAR/CAPA, Gage R&R validation for critical test systems and fixtures and ongoing monitoring.
  • Lead structured root cause analysis (8D or equivalent) and ensure effective corrective actions.
  • Partner with Hardware/SW QA, Service, and Customer Success teams to analyze field performance and drive closed-loop improvements.

You Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 3-5 years' experience as a quality engineer on complex electromechanical products. Experience working on-site with contract manufacturers and suppliers is preferred.
  • Proficiency in writing quality plans / requirements, inspection plans, work instructions, DFMEA/PFMEAs, and root cause analysis.
  • Proficiency in quality management concepts, tools and standards.
  • Knowledge of relevant manufacturing processes such as machining, casting, plastic molding, cable assembly, circuit card assembly and electromechanical assembly.
  • Ability to influence cross-functional teams and external partners.
  • Strong problem-solving / failure analysis skills, analytical skills, and communication skills.
  • Experience with SQL and Metabase for data analysis and dashboarding.
  • Experience with Arena PLM (or similar) and Jira is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel to domestic and international manufacturing partners and suppliers.

We offer:

  • Competitive salary and stock options.
  • Generous premium coverage for medical and dental insurance.
  • Unlimited PTO.
  • The opportunity to make an immediate impact in a fast-growing start-up and industry.
  • Wear robots at work!

This is an in-office role, though we are flexible on WFH and most people work remotely one or two days per week. International travel is required.

We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability status. Even if you do not check every box, but see yourself contributing, please apply.

Not sure if you meet every single requirement? That's fine! Everything is a balance, and more of one experience can make up for less of another. Studies have shown women and minorities are less likely to apply unless they meet all qualifications. We encourage you to break the status quo and apply to roles that would make you excited to come to work every day.
