Position Overview
Woodlawn Cemetery is seeking a full-time, year-round Laborer to support daily cemetery operations. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy working outdoors and contributing to the upkeep and care of a historic and meaningful environment.

Key Responsibilities

· Assist with daily cemetery operations and grounds maintenance

· Operate landscaping and construction power equipment

· Follow instructions from leadmen and foremen

· Perform general labor duties as assigned

· Work effectively in a team environment

Qualifications

· Valid driver’s license required

· Strong communication and leadership skills

· Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions

· High level of accuracy and attention to detail

· Ability to work in a team environment

· Experience in cemetery or funeral services (preferred)

· Experience operating landscaping or construction equipment (preferred)

Licensing Requirements

· Massachusetts Hoisting License (2B) – required or must be obtained within 90 days of hire

· Massachusetts Pesticide Applicator License – required or must be obtained within 90 days of hire

Preferred Experience
Candidates with experience in the following areas are strongly encouraged to apply:

· Horticulture

· Landscape architecture/design

· In-ground irrigation installation and maintenance

· Arboriculture / arborist work

Physical & Work Environment Requirements

· Ability to work outdoors year-round in all weather conditions

· Ability to perform strenuous physical labor

· Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull 1–40 lbs up to 33% of the time

· Frequently work near moving vehicles and mechanical parts

· Occasionally work in high or constrained places

· Moderate noise is typical for the work environment of this position

Compensation & Benefits

· Salary based on current union wages. Starting pay for this job classification ranges between $39.45 to $44.38 per hour.
