Psychiatric Registered Nurse (RN) – Travel night shift in Holyoke, MA. 13-week contract; Cerner EHR and psychiatric nursing experience preferred. Join our Behavioral Health team caring for adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics in the scenic Pioneer Valley.

• Position: Psychiatric Registered Nurse / Mental Health RN – Inpatient Behavioral Health
• Setting: Behavioral Health Division (Inpatient)
• Start Date: March 23, 2026
• End Date: June 22, 2026
• Duration: 13 weeks (travel nurse contract)
• Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) – Night shift RN
• Hours per Week: 36
• Weekend Hours: Yes
• Call Requirements: None
• Unit Size: 118 beds (inpatient psychiatric unit)
• Patient Ratios: 1:12
• Electronic Health Record: Cerner (EHR experience preferred)
• Dress Code: Grey scrubs (no hooded sweatshirts)

Required Qualifications – Psychiatric RN / Mental Health Nurse

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Massachusetts
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• Handle With Care (HWC) certification required
• Minimum 1 year of psychiatric or behavioral health nursing experience preferred (inpatient psych experience a plus)
• Strong de-escalation, crisis intervention, and behavioral management skills
• Ability to float between patient floors and adapt to varying patient acuity
• Must pass background check
• Team-oriented, flexible, and able to thrive in a fast-paced inpatient behavioral health environment

Key Responsibilities – Psychiatric / Behavioral Health Nursing

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based psychiatric nursing care to adult, pediatric, and geriatric patients with behavioral health needs
• Assess, monitor, and document psychiatric symptoms and safety risks using Cerner EHR
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed; monitor effectiveness and side effects
• Perform routine assessments using equipment such as EKG, vitals machine, and glucometer
• Utilize de-escalation techniques and crisis management strategies to maintain a safe therapeutic environment
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members including BHT Manager, RN Supervisor, and Chief Nursing Officer
• Support unit operations by floating between units as required to meet patient care needs
