Title: Registered Nurse - Medical - Surgical Telemetry (Float)
Location: Boston MA
Shift: 12H Rotating 07:00 PM - 07:30 AM
Rotating shift days/eves/nights: Every 4 week period will have one week consisting of one 12hr shift and three 8 hours shifts in a 4-week schedule.
Weekly Travel Pay $3000 and up

Facility: 600-bed teaching hospital (Level I Trauma Center)
Department: Medical-Surgical Float Pool (15 units)
Location: Must reside 50+ miles from facility (no local travelers)
Start Date: December only (weekly orientations every Monday)
Orientation: Weekly (Mondays; adjusted if Monday is a holiday)
BILH Coversheet: Required at time of submission

• MA RN License – Required at submission

• Minimum 3 years relevant medical-surgical experience

• Prior travel experience – Required

• Level I Trauma experience – Required

• Epic EMR experience – Required

• Certifications:

  • BLS (AHA)

  • ACLS (AHA)

• Computer proficiency – Ability to navigate basic web-based applications

• Rotating shifts: Days / Evenings / Nights

• Shift structure:

  • Over a 4-week period: one week includes one 12-hour shift and three 8-hour shifts

• Rotations:

  • May rotate within the same week (facility aims to avoid this when possible)

  • If rotation occurs, several days are provided between day/evening/night transitions

• Weekends/Holidays: Every other weekend and holiday required

• No call required

• Shift types: Combination of 8-hour and 12-hour shifts

• Schedule: No set schedule; RTO honored if submitted at time of submittal

• Float Pool Coverage: 15 Medical-Surgical Units, including:
  Neurology, Cardiac, Bariatric, General Medicine, General Surgery, GYN, GU, Hips & Joints, Oncology, Transplant (Liver/Kidney), and Vascular

• Patient Ratios:

  • Days: 4:1

  • Nights: 6:1

• Assignments:

  • Typically assigned to a unit for 2–3 weeks

  • May occasionally receive same-day assignments (within 2 hours of shift)

• 12-lead EKGs

• Lasix drips

• Blood transfusions

• Telemetry monitoring

• Ventilator management: RT manages vents; RNs administer nebulizers

• Interview: IVS with offer (please include availability with submission)

• RTO: Must be submitted at time of submission

  • Time off cannot exceed 4 consecutive days

  • No blocked scheduling or ongoing weekly day-off requests

• Scrubs: Any color permitted

• Parking: Up to $43/day for day shifts; public transportation available
