Position Overview
Gourmet Caterers is seeking an experienced Café Cashier to provide outstanding guest service while accurately handling transactions at the Plentiful Café in the Plimoth Patuxet Museum. As the first point of contact for visitors, this role ensures a friendly, welcoming environment, efficient service, and a positive guest experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly and take food and beverage orders accurately
- Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system to process cash, credit, and mobile payments
- Handle transactions efficiently while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
- Answer guest questions about menu items, ingredients, and daily specials
- Prepare and package orders as needed, ensuring quality and presentation standards
- Restock supplies such as cups, utensils, napkins, and retail items
- Ability to communicate dietary requests to the Kitchen staff
Qualifications
- Ability to work in a busy, customer-facing environment
- Must be 18+ years of age
- Comfortable using POS systems and handling cash transactions
- Exceptional customer service skills with strong attention to detail
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs as needed
· Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
· Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Tips certification required (or willing to obtain)
- Serve Safe certification required (or willing to obtain)
- Food Allergen certification required (or willing to obtain)
