Job Title: Surgical Technologist – CVOR (Cardiovascular Operating Room)

Location: Hyannis, MA 02601

Department: Open Heart / Cardiovascular OR

Assignment Duration: 13 Weeks

Hours: 40 hours/week

Shift: Day Shift

Schedule

• 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM or 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM

• Extensive on-call requirements

• Rotating weekends and holidays

Position Overview

A hospital is seeking an experienced CVOR Surgical Technologist to support its Open Heart and Cardiovascular Operating Room. This role requires advanced knowledge of cardiovascular surgical procedures, strict adherence to sterile technique, and the ability to function efficiently in a high-acuity surgical environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist surgeons during cardiovascular and open-heart surgical procedures

• Prepare and maintain sterile surgical fields and equipment

• Anticipate surgeon needs and pass instruments, supplies, and medications appropriately

• Ensure proper handling and counting of surgical instruments, sponges, and sharps

• Maintain compliance with infection control and safety standards

• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, RNs, and perfusionists

• Participate in on-call coverage and emergency CVOR cases

• Adhere to hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements

Compensation

• Gross Weekly Pay: $2,648.62/week

• W2 Rate: $29/hour

• Weekly Stipend: $1,561/week

• Local Pay Rate: $57/hour

Required Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology or Operating Room Technician program (civilian or military)

• Current Surgical Technologist Certification from an NCCA-accredited certifying body , recognized by:

  • American College of Surgeons (ACS)

  • Association of Surgical Technologists (AST)

• Current BLS certification required

• Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) experience required
