POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Are you a strategic leader with strong analytical skills and a keen eye for details?

Reporting to the CEO, the successful candidate for this Controller position will play a key role in driving financial strategy and overseeing accounting operations. The Controller will impact leadership decisions and strategic initiatives by conducting financial analyses and forecasting; optimizing Financial and Accounting processes; setting and evaluating KPI’s to ensure the organization’s continued success and growth.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Strategy

• Drive financial strategy, forecasting, budgeting, and decision support across the organization.


• Oversee the operations of Accounting, which include accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and payroll.


• Optimize Accounting and Financial related processes across the organization.

Management

• Establish, manage, review, and refine KPI’s for various departments.


• Direct and supervise day-to-day work of the Operations and Financial Analyst/Coordinator.

• Produce and maintain the company’s annual budget and monthly forecasts.


• Present management with analytics and monthly financial statements; analyze and report significant budget differences.


• Prepare end-of-year financial closing statements for internal and external use.


• Ensure correctness of forecast; analyze trends and changes; present KPI’s to senior management monthly.


• Conduct financial analyses as directed by CEO and other department heads.


• Oversee all issues related to sales tax, including international.


• Oversee and direct cash management.


• Approve and review employee expenses and employee commission payments.


• Interact with external accountants.

HR & Compliance (Tax, Legal, Employment Law)

• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.


• Where appropriate, oversee vendor selection and management.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance


• CPA preferred


• Minimum of 6 years in a similar role, with management experience.


• Experience performing accounting/financial functions for a SaaS company required .


• Expertise in Excel and QuickBooks Online.


• Familiarity with payroll systems (ADP preferred).


• HR / Employment Law / Tax / Legal experience a big plus!

• Self-starter who takes initiative and meets high professional standards.


• Well-organized with strong attention to detail.


• Ability to juggle multiple priorities and meet various goals and deadlines.
