Electronic Technician

Formed in 1902, HG&E is a municipally owned utility that provides electricity, natural gas, and fiber optic internet services to over 18,000 customers. DUTIES:

Under general direction of Senior Technicians or Supervisors, performs skilled technical work in the installation, modification, maintenance, test, repair, calibration and design of electronic, electrical and instrumentation equipment/systems such as controls, relays, computers, alarm systems, metering and devices and performs other related duties as required.

MINIMUM ENTRANCE QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

• Associate's Degree in Electrical Technology or related field and/or Mass Journeyman Electrician License

• Over 2 years of experience in the basic operation, maintenance, and repair of industrial instrumentation, controls or communication system components involving the application of physical, mechanical, and electronic principles in a Hydro Electric municipal utility.

• Knowledge of the maintenance and repair of pumps, filters, aerators, valves, controls and other system and plant equipment.

• Experienced in the installation, repair, modification, calibration and preventative maintenance on a wide variety of PLC’s, digital, analog, programmable and other auxiliary electrical equipment.

• Experienced labor costing and materials for complex electrical installation and repair projects.

• Experienced in PC, Microsoft Excel, Word, Email, Internet.

• Regular and reliable attendance.

PREFERRED ENTRANCE QUALIFICATIONS (IN ADDITION TO ABOVE):

• Massachusetts Master Electrician License

• Valid CDL Class A or B

• Other related Certificates/Licenses applicable to position.

PAY RANGE:

Position pay range is $43.15-50.76/hr and is dependent upon experience and qualifications. Position is subject to a 2-year unwritten training program per CBA.

REMARKS

Successful candidate must have a Valid Massachusetts’s Driver’s License and be able to pass pre-employment physical, drug-screening, and criminal background check.
