Job Purpose
As our Business Development Manager, you will play a critical role in expanding our brand presence among travel advisors, luxury agencies, and consortia. Your mission will be to build and manage relationships with key partners, generate qualified leads, and drive bookings through the travel trade.
You will act as our ambassador - attending trade shows, hosting events, and nurturing long-term partnerships that translate into meaningful revenue growth.
JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES
Partnership & Lead Generation
- Develop and execute a strategy to grow B2B leads and pipeline from travel agencies, consortia (e.g., Virtuoso, Signature, Traveller Made etc) and the corporate world (family offices etc)
- Working with the Director of Sales identify business opportunities from new sources while maximising potential from existing sources.
- Develop tactics, initiatives and plans to successfully grow volumes from ‘dormant’ or ‘inactive’ agents.
- Maintain an active and up-to-date CRM pipeline of qualified leads and contacts
- On board new agents ensuring we understand their needs and they, our value, and the information we need to successful support them in closing a sale.
Relationship Building
- Manage and grow existing accounts, acting as the operational point of contact
- Conduct regular check-ins, training sessions and product updates with travel advisors.
- Build long-term, trust-based relationships with key agencies and decision-makers
Events & Representation
- Represent the brand at major trade shows, conferences, and industry events
- Plan and host roadshows, agency visits, and occasional FAM trips to destination
- Deliver engaging product presentations and webinars
Reporting & Collaboration
- Report on KPIs, lead generation, and conversion performance
- Share insights and market feedback with the commercial and marketing teams, proposing initiatives to aid conversion.
- Collaborate closely with our concierge and reservations teams to ensure a seamless client experience
- Collaborate with marketing to create customised promotional and informational materials as well as budget management for travel agent incentives.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
- 10+ years’ experience in business development, sales, or account management in the luxury travel or hospitality sector
- Established network of U.S. travel advisors and/or experience with consortia like Virtuoso, Signature, or Travel Leaders.
- Extensive knowledge of global source markets
- Proven track record of growing B2B pipelines and converting leads to revenue
- Strong presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and drive informed decision-making
- Entrepreneurial, proactive, and solutions-oriented
- Willingness to travel extensively within the U.S. and occasionally internationally
- An enthusiasm and curiosity for all things Italian/Greek and the Mediterranean way of life.
