As our product portfolio expands, we are strengthening the systems that support engineering, manufacturing, and operations. This role helps ensure that product data across the organization is structured, accurate, and ready to support manufacturing planning and automation.
Role Overview
We are seeking a Product Data & PDM Administrator to maintain and enforce disciplined product data structures across the 3LED platform.
This role focuses on data accuracy, system organization, and process discipline , not product design. You will manage product data within SolidWorks PDM and related systems to ensure parts, assemblies, and documentation are structured correctly for engineering, manufacturing, and MRP planning.
You will work closely with leadership, finance, engineering, and operations to implement and maintain consistent product data standards.
Key Responsibilities
Product Data Management
- Maintain structured product data for parts and assemblies across multiple brands.
- Enforce part numbering standards and naming conventions.
- Ensure assemblies follow defined hierarchy and configuration rules.
- Maintain consistent product metadata and documentation.
SolidWorks PDM Administration
- Maintain organized PDM vault structures and workflows.
- Manage revision control and file lifecycle states.
- Ensure proper check-in/check-out discipline.
- Maintain drawing templates and documentation standards.
BOM Accuracy & Manufacturing Readiness
- Verify assemblies generate accurate Bills of Materials.
- Support standardized component libraries.
- Ensure correct make/buy classifications and part attributes.
- Prepare product data structures to support MRP systems.
Data Cleanup & Continuous Improvement
- Identify and resolve duplicate or inconsistent product data.
- Improve documentation consistency and engineering data standards.
- Support migration and cleanup of legacy product files.
Cross-Functional Support
- Work closely with engineering, operations, and finance teams.
- Help ensure product data supports manufacturing planning and operational systems.
- Support product data organization across Fusion Optix, LEDdynamics, Xico, Prolume, and LEDmate.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related field preferred.
- 5+ years experience working with CAD assemblies and engineering product data.
- Strong experience with SolidWorks and SolidWorks PDM .
- Experience working with Bills of Materials and product assemblies.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
- Comfortable working within structured systems and enforcing standards.
- Ability to work independently and maintain disciplined processes.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in manufacturing environments.
- Familiarity with ERP or MRP systems.
- Exposure to product data management or PLM systems.
- Experience organizing engineering documentation and templates.
What This Role Is Not
- Not a product design engineering role.
- Not a marketing or product management role.
- Not focused on creating drawings for orders.
This position focuses on maintaining disciplined product data and structured engineering systems that support scalable manufacturing operations.
