Position Description

Join our dynamic team as a Heavy Equipment and Truck Mechanic! We're looking for a skilled professional with 3-5 years of hands-on experience in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of heavy equipment and trucks. Position Requirements

Key Responsibilities
    • Inspect, diagnose, and repair construction equipment, paving equipment, heavy-duty trucks, and trailers (diesel, hydraulic, electrical, mechanical systems)
    • Troubleshoot malfunctions using diagnostic equipment, manuals, and schematics
    • Test repaired equipment for performance and safety compliance
    • Maintain accurate service records and documentation
    • Replace defective parts using hand and power tools
    • Communicate effectively with supervisors, operators, and team members
    • Adhere to workplace safety protocols and regulatory requirements
Qualifications
    • High school diploma or equivalent (technical certification in diesel/heavy equipment maintenance preferred)
    • 3-5 years of verifiable experience as a heavy equipment or truck mechanic
    • Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical/electronic systems, and mechanical repairs
    • Proficient with diagnostic computers and specialized repair tools
    • Valid driver's license (CDL preferred)
    • Ability to read and interpret service manuals and technical documentation
    • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Working Conditions

    • Exposure to loud noises, fumes, dust, grease, heavy machinery
    • Use of PPE (safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, steel-toed boots) required
    • Frequent standing, walking, bending, squatting, crawling in tight spaces
    • Overtime and Saturday work may be required
Physical Requirements
    • Lift/carry heavy objects up to 75 lbs frequently
    • Manual dexterity for hand and power tools
    • Good vision and hearing for diagnostics and safety
    • Work in awkward positions for extended periods
    • Stamina for repetitive movements, long shifts
