Who We Are. The Wayfair Experiential Retail team is a dynamic group of innovative thinkers across many disciplines, partnering closely with strategic leaders to catapult Wayfair into the leading destination for all things home. As a collaborative, hands-on group, we are focused on amplifying our brand voice in the physical design space. Working in partnership with key stakeholders and leaders on the Brand and Physical Retail teams, the Experiential Retail team provides direction on store and experiential marketing design concepts that leverage the brand story to create engaging signature experiences.

Wayfair is seeking a Design Associate to help us expand our brands - Wayfair, All Modern, Joss & Main, Birch Lane and Perigold - in the physical retail space.

On day one, you’ll dive into our collaborative work environment, helping to design our signage and retail assets in close partnership with Senior Designers, Copywriters, Visual Communications partners, and our Customer Experience leaders. You’ll be involved in producing high-quality, branded assets to be used in retail signage, collateral, packaging, corporate communications, and internal materials of all kinds, including print and digital channels. You will help bring a consistent creative vision to our consumer facing channels, bringing our brands to life.

This role reports to our Creative Lead of the Signage Studio, which is part of our diverse creative department. Candidates must submit a portfolio of work in order to be considered.

What You’ll Do:

  • Bring an impeccable design eye, high taste level, and ability to capture our brand voices to reach new and existing audiences.

  • Combine a design background with an affinity for home design.

  • Create design solutions that result in the creation of compelling signage assets for our stores across all five of our brands.

  • Uphold the integrity of our brand through high-output asset creation and high-quality production work.

  • Partner with designers and copywriters to create assets across a range of projects, including retail and environmental signage.

  • Manage multiple projects requiring cross-functional collaboration.

  • Work cross-functionally and partner with other business groups at Wayfair as needed.


What You’ll Need:

  • BFA in Graphic Design, or related creative field.

  • 1-3 years of experience designing in a professional creative environment (in-house or agency).

  • Design experience in retail, interior design and/or lifestyle categories.

  • Experience working in both Adobe Creative Cloud and Figma.

  • Love of typography, print design and enjoy getting into those little details of a project.

  • Highly organized, proactive, and collaborative, capable of juggling multiple projects and deadlines.

  • Experience designing across print and digital platforms, with knowledge of different printing techniques and best practices.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Embodies and promotes a successful attitude, a positive work environment, confidence in leadership, and teamwork to achieve business results.

  • A wealth of curiosity and a high-tolerance for calculated risk.

  • Endlessly curious about the customer – their passions, needs, and pain points.
