  • Ensure system architecture and interoperability requirements are maintained within the approved baseline. Define operational requirements and functional interactions within and across systems, considering life-cycle cost, logistics supportability, and human factors. Translate DoD user requirements into system requirements for design, development, testing, and evaluation using approved DoD and USAF acquisition methodologies.
  • Provide engineering analysis of training systems, training equipment, and simulator requirements, including documentation and design evaluation.

Acquisition

  • Apply DoD acquisition and sustainment systems engineering processes to address life-cycle requirements for supported products. Prepare and review program specifications for items, materials, and processes.
  • Use analytical methods, simulation, MBSE, and digital engineering techniques to optimize system performance and effectiveness, define system parameters, evaluate hardware, and validate flight test results.
  • Develop and integrate milestone review documentation, periodic reports, and certifications in accordance with DoD and Air Force acquisition policies. Review and evaluate contractor drawings and technical data packages to ensure accuracy, compliance with requirements, and adherence to ASME technical data package standards.

Technical Management

  • Support requirements definition, architecture design, integration, verification and validation, transition, decision analysis, risk management, interface management, and configuration management processes.
  • Facilitate knowledge sharing, lessons learned, and best practices across customers and contractors within proprietary constraints. Conduct market research and trade studies to evaluate current and future systems and assess mission suitability, cost, schedule, and technical performance.
