About the Role
Join our quantum research team in Cambridge to support cutting-edge quantum computing experiments. This is a hands-on lab role focused on setting up, maintaining, and improving lab equipment and infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and maintain electronics equipment (e.g., signal generators, analyzers)
- Assist in assembling and wiring cryogenic (low-temperature) systems
- Build small custom hardware (electronics and mechanical parts)
- Perform routine maintenance on lab systems (pumps, compressors, cooling systems)
- Support basic software tasks for equipment control and monitoring
Requirements
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or related field
- Hands-on experience with electronic and mechanical systems
- Familiarity with lab tools (multimeters, oscilloscopes, soldering tools, etc.)
- Ability to read schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals
- Basic understanding of mechanical systems (pumps, compressors, etc.)
Nice to Have
- Experience with cryogenic or vacuum systems
- Knowledge of RF/microwave equipment
- Basic programming skills (e.g., Python)
