Pay Range: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday | 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM | 24 hrs per week.
Join our healthcare team as a Unit Coordinator / Medical Office Coordinator supporting our Cardio, Pulmonary, Neurology, and Sleep Disorders departments. In this role, you will be the welcoming first point of contact for patients, visitors, and physicians while helping ensure smooth daily operations within the department.
Reporting to the Director of Cardio/Pulmonary/Neurology/Sleep Disorders, this position is responsible for greeting patients, managing incoming calls, and assisting with medical record processing and administrative support for the 4 East department. The ideal candidate is organized, professional, and committed to delivering exceptional patient service.
Maintaining patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA guidelines and demonstrating Service Excellence are essential components of this role.
Key Responsibilities
As a Unit Coordinator / Medical Administrative Coordinator, you will:
• Greet patients, visitors, and physicians entering the department in a professional and welcoming manner
• Answer and manage multiple department phone lines, directing calls appropriately
• Assist with medical record processing and documentation for the 4 East departments
• Support department workflow through accurate data entry and record management
• Maintain patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations
• Provide exceptional customer service to patients, families, and healthcare staff
• Assist with general administrative and clerical duties to support department operations
Minimum Qualifications
Education
• High School Diploma or GED required
• Medical Terminology coursework preferred
• Coursework related to medical office administration or administrative skills preferred
Experience
• One year of experience in a medical office or healthcare environment preferred
• Experience with customer service, data entry, or hospital systems such as RIS a plus
Licensure & Certification
• None required
