Tax – Business Tax Services- Private Tax High Net Worth Individuals – Senior The opportunity EY Private Tax is a growing practice within EY, and you’ll see that growth reflected in your career. The team has a dedicated focus toward serving privately held companies and their owners and their families. These clients span from family-owned businesses to private equity owned companies. One thing they all have in common is they are high growth private companies. As many companies choose to no longer go public, this is an ever increasing and exciting group of companies from start-up companies all the way to multi-billion-dollar global private enterprises. With a diverse portfolio of interesting and challenging work, you’ll make an impact on some of the most technically demanding tax planning and compliance projects around. Your Key Responsibilities Depending on your unique skills and ambitions, you could be managing various responsibilities, from technical planning and advising of clients that include high-profile individuals and their families. Whatever you find yourself doing, you’ll personally coach and develop a highly trained team, all while handling activities with a focus on quality and commercial value.- Researching tax issues to develop effective tax planning strategies
- Translating complex data from a range of sources into client-ready insights and deliverables
- Building effective long-term relationships with our clients, understanding their unique needs to provide a tailored service
- Communicating complex tax issues to non-tax professionals and clients
- Maintaining your reputation in your field by constantly updating and sharing your technical and finest practice knowledge
- Reviewing work of more junior team members
- Identifying and reacting to risks and opportunities to improve our services and processes
- A bachelor's degree in a related field, supported by significant tax, business or financial planning experience
- Have obtained or have active progress towards a CPA certification or membership in The Bar
- Minimum of 2 years of work experience in professional services or professional tax organization
- Experience with federal and state personal and trust taxation
- Experience with flow through entities (S-Corps, Partnerships, LLC’s)
- A thorough understanding of automated tax processing systems
- Experience with Gift, Estate and Trust tax planning and compliance is a plus.
- Willingness to travel as needed, and working in a balanced hybrid environment
- A proven record in a professional services environment
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- The ability to adapt your work style to work with both internal and client team members
- Excellent collaboration and negotiation skills, and the confidence to challenge colleagues and stakeholders from a diverse range of backgrounds

- We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $82,000 to $135,200. The base salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $98,500 to $153,600. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options.
- Join us in our team-led and leader-enabled hybrid model. Our expectation is for most people in external, client serving roles to work together in person 40-60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project or year.
- Under our flexible vacation policy, you’ll decide how much vacation time you need based on your own personal circumstances. You’ll also be granted time off for designated EY Paid Holidays, Winter/Summer breaks, Personal/Family Care, and other leaves of absence when needed to support your physical, financial, and emotional well-being.
