Accounting Specialist

We’re looking for a detail-driven Accounting Specialist to take the reins of our daily financial operations. This is a pivotal dual-function role where you will manage the full lifecycle of our Accounts Payable and Receivable. From managing vendor trust to ensuring our revenue is captured accurately, you’ll be the backbone of our success.

Responsibilities

Accounts Payable (AP):

• Review, code, and process vendor invoices with high accuracy.

• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any billing discrepancies.

• Prepare weekly check runs and electronic transfers (ACH/Wire).

• Maintain accurate 1099 records and vendor files.

Accounts Receivable (AR):

• Generate and send out timely invoices to customers.

• Monitor aging reports and perform proactive collection follow-ups.

• Post daily customer payments (checks, credit cards, and ACH) to the general ledger.

• Research and resolve payment discrepancies or short-pays.

General Support:

• Assist with monthly bank reconciliations and month-end closing tasks.

• Maintain organized digital and physical financial records.

• Provide supporting documentation for year-end audits.

• Collaborate with other departments to ensure expense reports are processed correctly.

What We’re Looking For

• Experience: 2+ years of experience in an accounting clerk or assistant role.

• Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business (preferred but not required with relevant experience).

• Technical Skills: Intermediate Excel skills (vlookups and pivot tables are a plus!).

• Soft Skills: A "detective" mindset for finding errors, the ability to meet strict deadlines, and a polite but firm communication style for collections.
