About the Role:
The Maintenance Technician I&II position is critical to ensuring the continuous and efficient operation of manufacturing and facility equipment across 1st and 3rd shifts. This role involves performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems to minimize downtime and maintain safety standards. The technician will collaborate closely with operations and engineering teams to identify potential issues and implement preventive measures. Success in this role directly contributes to the overall productivity and safety of the facility by maintaining equipment reliability and compliance with regulatory requirements. The position offers opportunities for skill development and advancement through hands-on experience and cross-functional teamwork.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Experience with hand and power tools commonly used in maintenance tasks.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
- Willingness to work 1st or 3rd shift schedules as required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Completion of a technical or vocational training program in industrial maintenance or a related field.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or industrial maintenance environment.
- Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
- Basic welding and fabrication skills.
- Certification in electrical or mechanical maintenance disciplines.
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on production machinery and facility systems to ensure optimal performance.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic malfunctions using appropriate tools and techniques, and implement effective solutions promptly.
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs, work orders, and reports to document all performed tasks and equipment status.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to prioritize maintenance activities and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulatory standards to maintain a safe working environment for all personnel.
Skills:
The required skills enable the technician to effectively perform hands-on maintenance and repairs, ensuring equipment operates safely and efficiently. Proficiency in reading technical documents and schematics allows for accurate diagnosis and troubleshooting of complex systems. Preferred skills such as familiarity with CMMS enhance the ability to track maintenance activities and schedule preventive tasks systematically. Welding and fabrication skills support the creation and repair of custom parts, reducing downtime. Strong communication and teamwork skills facilitate collaboration with colleagues and supervisors to prioritize work and implement continuous improvements.
