Class A Lineman
The Hudson Light and Power Department (HLPD), located in Hudson Massachusetts, is seeking to fill a Class A Lineman position at its Forest Avenue facility.
This position will report to the General Line Foreman via the Crew Chief and Head Lineman or their designees.
DUTIES:
1. Construct and maintain an overhead distribution system.
2. Construct and maintain an underground distribution system.
3. Construct and maintain substations.
4. Read plans and drawings.
5. Keep accurate and intelligible records as required by the General Line Foreman.
6. Supervise and assist lower grade linemen.
7. Assist in the constructing and maintaining of the General Plant.
8. Assist in Customer Relations and Public Relations.
9. Be knowledgeable of all distribution circuit layouts on HLPD electrical system.
10. Operate all equipment and motor vehicles including pulling of conductors on overhead and underground line work and train others to operate this equipment.
11. Perform necessary switching and servicing in connection with the clearing of fault conditions and the maintaining or restoring of service to overhead and underground plant and apparatus.
12. Render first aid treatment.
13. Perform duties as a Trouble-man on a rotating basis.
14. Be available for emergency calls during non-working hours.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Qualifications shall include but not be limited to the following:
1. Have the ability to perform heavy physical work outdoors in all seasons and at times for extended periods; including at heights.
2. Have a minimum of one year of the rating of Class B or equivalent.
3. Have a working knowledge of electricity.
4. Have and maintain a valid Massachusetts CDL License with HAZ-MAT endorsement if required.
5. Have a High School, Trade School, or equivalent education.
6. Have ability to climb utility poles.
7. Have complete knowledge of the entire Light Department operations.
8. Have the ability to train others.
9. Must have and maintain a valid Hoisting License.
10. Must reside within 15 miles of HLPD Offices with a 30 minute call out response time or move within 6 months to be compliant.
